Radar level measurement results approved

Levelflex M guided radar level measurement device has achieved excellent results in a recent report by WIB, the International Instrument Users' Association.

Endress+Hauser's Levelflex M guided radar device achieved excellent results in a recent report by WIB, the International Instrument Users' Association Founded 40 years ago, WIB is a non-profit organisation that provides services to process plant owners and engineering consultants around the world for the best selection of process instrumentation and systems

Its evaluations take in evidence of compliance with standards and specifications, use of technology and instrument-associated cost savings.

Partner organisations include EI (Evaluation International) in the UK and EXERA in France.

WIB wanted to determine whether guided radar technology would offer a robust, simple replacement for conventional level measurement technologies such as positive displacement and float devices often used in stilling wells, next to columns, vessels and tanks.

The tests were carried out by an independent expert and a participant from the WIB level team.

WIB's 'Evaluation of Radar Level Transmitters in Side Gauges' report praised Levelflex M for its ease-of-use and high accuracy.

With all test fluids (water at 15 deg C, water at 70 deg C, pentane and transformer oil), the accuracy measurements were within manufacturer's specification and no corrections or adjustments were needed.

Other competencies highlighted include repeatability, linearity and hysterisis.

Endress+Hauser was the only manufacturer to complete the entire test programme using a single rod device - a fact that offers decisive advantages.

Contamination and deposits are less likely to cause a problem using a single rod when compared with a double rod or coaxial system.

What is more, during the hydrocarbon tests the patented 'end-of-probe' algorithm proved ideal.

Endress+Hauser's Levelflex M offers a host of benefits including quick and easy installation due to factory configuration and menu-guided display and reliable measurement of bulk materials and liquids, even with turbulent surfaces and foam.

What is more, the instrument is virtually unaffected by baffles within vessels resulting in smooth operation. Request a free brochure from Endress + Hauser ...
