A tablet and capsule blister pack feeder is modular, enabling it to be customised to the precise combination of web width and draw of individual customers.

Electro-mec has introduced a new generation of EMF tablet and capsule blister pack feeders.

The NG feeder meets increasing demand for the packing of multi-product blisters.

It also features enhancements that allow even more accurate and faster handling of a wide variety of products.

Designed on a modular basis, the NG can be customised to individual customers' precise combination of web width and draw.

The NG machine's more compact dimensions allow up to three separate units to be installed side-by-side on a single standard bed length blister machine.

In doing so, it allows fast and accurate filling of multi-product blisters.

Individual control of each product is provided.

The NG is also compatible with continuous motion blister machines.

The latest NG model has Electro-mec's pioneering 'individual feed' technology.

It uses separate feeder tubes that dose a single tablet or capsule into the blister form for each cycle.

It enables accurate positioning of the product into each form for fast filling speeds.

It also prevents 'shingling', chipping and damage caused by collision with other tablets.

The feed tubes now feature a helical design.

which eliminates the possibility of tube jams when feeding 'shingle-prone' products.

Other enhancements on the NG include remote touch screen control.

Its tooling is held without fasteners in order to comply with latest cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations.

The NG is also compatible with existing change part tooling.

Also, its modular construction allows fast and easy system changeovers.

The NG is the first major development made by Electro-mec since it was bought by Avid Holdings in February 2007.

The NG development underlines the parent company's stated commitment to further grow and develop Electro-mec as a leading supplier to the European pharmaceutical industry.

"This model is a direct response to changing demands on the packing line, in particular the need for speed and flexibility to handle multi-product application," commented Ray Kirby of Electro-mec.

"It is a perfect example of how the best just got better." Electro-mec also makes high quality change part tools for blister pack machines.

The company supplies sets for all makes and models of equipment.
