Epicor Continues to Solidify Leadership Position
Software Provider Hits Milestone in Third Quarter with 1,000th Customer Selecting Latest Epicor Vantage Solution
Epicor Software Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of the Global 1000, announced continued momentum for its service-oriented architecture (SOA) global manufacturing and supply chain management solution, Epicor Vantage, for new and existing customers.
During the third quarter, the Company reached a milestone with the 1,000th customer selecting Epicor's latest Vantage offering.
Among the most recent companies to select Vantage is Mankato, Minnesota-based Katolight Corporation, a power generator manufacturer.
Other recent Vantage customers include a leading manufacturer of transport and sport trailers, a manufacturer of pool deck equipment for residential and commercial swimming pools, a manufacturer of computer systems and sub-assemblies for OEMs in the medical, semi-conductor and industrial automation markets, a manufacturer of custom, standard and specialty windows, doors, columns, posts and other millwork products, and leading global marketer and distributor of electronic, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products and services.
The newest version of Vantage-which continues to exploit the latest Microsoft .NET and Web services technology-offers enhanced supply chain management capabilities, robust business process management (BPM) functionality and support for the unique requirements of the automotive and aerospace and defence industries, as well as strengthened support for industrial machinery manufacturers.
"Epicor has once again raised the bar for enterprise resource planning business solutions for the manufacturing and distribution industries," said Mark Duffell, president and COO of Epicor.
"Vantage exploits Microsoft .NET technology and our SOA to provide a total business solution for companies worldwide that is both scalable and flexible, while providing a rapid return on investment".
"Our technology platform, combined with our ability to provide a single point of accountability - from technology to integration, to service and support - at a lower total cost of ownership, continues to differentiate Epicor in the market".
"Today's global manufacturers and distributors demand solutions that enable them to meet businesses challenges head-on," Duffell continued.
"As illustrated by surpassing 1,000 Vantage customers on the new version, we believe Epicor is becoming the provider of choice for midmarket manufacturing and supply chain management solutions".
"For more than 50 years, Mankato, Minnesota-based Katolight Corporation has been a leading manufacturer of generator sets built to meet the most demanding quality and performance requirements".
"Katolight primarily serves the agricultural and industrial industries, including residential, commercial and international markets - operating from over 180,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space, with more than 300 employees, plus a national and international distribution network".
Katolight selected Epicor Vantage after an intensive nine-month comparison of enterprise resource planning solutions to replace its aging-system.
"Our legacy enterprise system was primarily being used for accounting, purchasing and configuration".
"As our business continued to grow, more and more we were finding people going outside the system to get the job done - the system just didn't have the reporting structure needed to support our growth," said Ruth Griebenow, corporate project manager for Katolight.
"During our initial evaluation of four software vendors, Epicor stood out with its offering of a single comprehensive solution on the latest SOA and Web services technology".
"Our evaluation made it clear to us that Epicor was the only company that could give us everything we needed from one vendor".
"Functionality, ease-of-use, and the ability of Epicor Vantage to grow with our company were additional key factors in our decision," Griebenow added.
"The new solution will also give our sales force the ability to work in offline mode, which was a major selling point".
