Epicor told manufacturingtalk.com that it was selected partly for its ability to provide a solution that not only met the current requirement of a business, but also anticipated inclusion of emerging and future technologies.
According to Frans Carlstrom, operations manager for D and S, the Epicor Vantage ERP, which uses Microsoft .NET, has a many functions previously done through multiple software programs.
The built-in workflow processes within the Epicor Vantage enables D and S to efficiently manage the entire order cycle, from quoting, production and planning to logistics, billing and payroll.
The result will be a dramatic reduction in non value-added operations and duplication of activities as well as time-consuming data re-entry.
"The automation of redundant operations allows our employees to reallocate more time toward cross training and other production tasks," said Carlstrom.
"This enables our company to be flexible and respond more quickly to customers without adding administrative staff.
We also anticipate noticeable improvements in our ability to more efficiently and accurately schedule and forecast projects, which will in turn improve productivity and on-time delivery rates".
