A dual action mechanical interlock from provides positive interlocking for the safeguarding of operators, and saves valuable production time by letting guard doors be slammed positively shut.

Slamlock, a dual action mechanical interlock from Guardmaster Prosafe, provides positive interlocking for the safeguarding of operators, and saves valuable production time by allowing guard doors to be slammed positively shut The unit's ability to provide positive guard locking from a simple slam operation is the result of a design that includes a mechanical tongue type actuator, in addition to a trapped key

The tongue actuator fits onto a guard door, adjacent to the Slamlock unit.

As the guard door is closed the actuator enters the Slamlock, an action which, when fully complete, allows the trapped key in the Slamlock unit to be rotated and removed, thus locking both the actuator and the guard door positively closed.

The guard door will now stay in this state until the key is re-inserted and rotated through 90ø to unlock it.

Mechanical advantage - like other Prosafe single key access units, the Slamlock is designed for the interlocking of hatches, hinged guards and sliding doors on machines where full body access is not required.

With its robust all mechanical construction, it is extremely reliable and offers the advantage of not requiring electrical wiring to the guarded access point (i.e a guard door or gate).

Instead, power is disconnected either by a trapped key on a remote control panel, or by a Prosafe RKS type unit; the key subsequently being hand carried to the guard door or gate.

Extending the scope of operation for Slamlock is dual key version (DSL).

This is similar to the single key unit, but has a secondary key to allow "2 key in" or "key exchange" conditions.

One major use for the key exchange versions is in instances where whole body access to an area or enclosure is required.

In these applications the secondary key can be used as a personnel key, ensuring greater safeguarding for personnel working inside protected areas.

Stainless steel construction for arduous environments - both the single and dual key Slamlocks are manufactured throughout in food grade (316L) stainless steel.

This enables them be used in arduous environments and industries such as food processing where hygiene demands are exacting.

The Slamlocks are also equipped with a weatherproof stainless steel dust cap to protect their key release mechanisms.

Finally, in common with all other Prosafe interlocks, they are manufactured with replaceable code barrels that allow quick and easy maintenance.

Fully Inclusive Guardmaster Prosafe range satisfies bulk of interlocking requirements - Guardmaster's Prosafe range is fully inclusive, satisfying the bulk of mechanical interlocking requirements with a series of complementary products, including isolators, key exchange units, integral valve interlocks and lock out/tag out devices, all of which employ the same dependable key principle and are tested to 100,000 operations (equivalent to 27 years service at 10 operations per day.) New catalogue highlights Prosafe range - further details of the complete Prosafe interlock range are contained within the Guardmaster catalogue, which is also available on mini-CD.

Copies of both the catalogue and CD can be obtained by phoning EJA's marketing department on: 01942 - 255166.
