Robust, reliable and cost effective emergency stop provision over extended distances up to 125m is provided by a rope operated system helps to reduce number of emergency stops on extensive layouts.

Robust, reliable and cost effective emergency stop provision over extended distances up to 125metres is provided by Allen Bradley Guardmaster's new, extended span, Lifeline 4 system.

The rope operated system helps to reduce the number of emergency stops required on extensive plant layouts, providing OEMs and users with an ideal method of achieving operator protection along exposed conveyors and around awkward machinery.

Designed primarily for use on conveyor lines in the mining, quarrying, food and materials handling industries, the extended span, Lifeline 4 system meets the stringent requirements of EN418 "Safety of Machinery - Emergency Stop Equipment, and also conform to, EN292, ISO13850, EN60947-5-1, EN60947-5-5 and BS5304.

The system offers users the benefit of four sets of contacts, providing maximum flexibility for auxiliary output, and the choice of 2 popular conduit entry, and entry size options, M20 and 1/2in NPT.

Enclosed within a heavy duty, weatherproof metal case, which is sealed against water and dust ingress (to IP66), the Lifeline 4 switching devices are built to withstand operation in harsh conditions.

They can be actuated from any position along the wire/rope length providing a constant access emergency stop facility.

This extends even to extreme ends of the rope span, courtesy of a mushroom- headed emergency stop button mounted directly on the Lifeline 4 switch body.

more.

Employing the extended span Lifeline 4 with Guardmaster's unique LRTS tensioning system both simplifies and significantly speeds up the installation of rope operated emergency stop systems.

No special skills or tools are required, yet installations can be set-up and operational in minutes.

The effectiveness of these systems can then be maintained - even at maximum span - thanks to a rope status indicator, which is integrated into the body of the Lifeline 4 emergency stop switch.

When correctly installed, a pair of Lifeline 4 switches will serve a safety grab wire of up to 125m in length.

This large span helps to reduce the number of emergency stops required on extensive plant layouts.

It also provides a tripping facility for effecting machine shutdowns and lockouts if an operator should fall or is pushed against the wire rope.

In both cases switching is positive and immediate in response to a definite deflection, and is also largely free of "nuisance tripping", following an extensive testing programme of the Lifeline 4 and the LRTS against the effects of vibration.

A leader in machinery safety world wide - Allen Bradley Guardmaster is a world leader in the design and manufacture of machinery interlocking and safety monitoring systems.

As a member of EJA, which is part of Rockwell Automation, Allen Bradley Guardmaster is able to offer complete and integrated safety and control systems, including guards, safety mats and machine interlocks, all of which find application in a wide range of industries world-wide.
