Laser profiling centre makes light work
When visiting MACH 2002 earlier this year, having already made highly effective use of a laser profiling system installed 18 months previously, a subcontractor chose a second, more powerful type.
SMEs offered affordable laser marking system
An affordable laser marking system for all small-to-medium volume manufacturers is complete with control electronics, software, safety workstation and work piece focusing mechanism.
On stand 4909 in Hall 4 Electrox will be giving live demonstrations with its Cobra E entry level system and its high end model, Cobra II plus.
The simplicity of a complete laser marking solution will be shown by the combination of Cobra E and a compact desk top workstation whilst Cobra II plus will be installed in a Maxim freestanding workstation to demonstrate the full potential of turn key laser marking solutions.
On the 600 Group stand 5160 in Hall 5 Electrox will be exhibiting the Cobra II.

Budget-priced laser marking system launched
To meet the market demand - particularly from SMEs - for aggressively priced laser marking systems - this unit provides a permanent, easily legible and versatile mark.
Laser marker is gentle with delicate substrates
Laser marking machine is suitable for a wide range of applications and, in particular, facilitates the rapid removal of coated layers from delicate substrates without damage.
Also shown in combination with a Maxim freestanding workstation and giving live demonstrations, Cobra II utilises the enhanced Cobra platform to provide smaller marking spot sizes and higher power densities.
For reliable performance the optical components on all Cobra lasers are mounted on a single rigid rail which is enclosed to be fully sealed against the ingress of dust.
All Cobra lasers operate on single phase electricity and have fully integrated cooling to provide for straightforward installation and rapid start up.
Visitors to either stand will be able to witness the user friendly interface to Cobra software which ensures rapid familiarity for both programmers and operators.
Fully compatible with all current versions of Windows, Cobra software can import a wide range of graphics file formats, generate bar codes, two dimensional codes and date codes as well as perform automatic serialisation, conduct merges with data from external sources and control up to four axis of motion.
Laser marking uses the highly concentrated energy of an amplified beam of light focused to a very small spot to create a variety of images on a wide range of materials - very much like writing with a pen on paper.
Laser marking is permanent, clean and safe, flexible and above all, cost effective.
Typical applications for laser marking include, the characters on a computer keyboard, the back-lit keypads of mobile phones, livestock identification tags, day/night vehicle instrument displays, personalisation of promotional giftware, identification codes on surgical instruments and logos and part numbers on surgical implants, engineering cutting tools, bearings etc plus many others.
