It can operate accurately at temperatures up to 450 deg C ambient and is unaffected by humidity levels, airborne contamination or vibration.
Because fibre lasers are relatively efficient at converting electrical energy into laser power, there is less waste heat to be disposed of and this enables the system to be entirely air cooled, permitting a substantially smaller laser package.
Its compact size means it is easily integrated into other processes so is also attractive to integrators and OEM partners.
Modern lasers are rapidly becoming the preferred technology for marking a wide range of substrates, including metals, plastics, wood, glass and leather.
Providing a clear and indelible mark, it does not require the use of hazardous substances such as acids or solvents, nor does it need a supply of consumables, such as ink.
There is no tooling to wear and is as flexible in use as a pen.
