$1m order for laser marking machine awarded
Electrox, one of few fully integrated manufacturers of laser marking machines, has won an order worth in excess of $1million for the new Cobra V20 Nd:YAG vanadate laser.
Electrox, one of few fully integrated manufacturers of laser marking machines, has won an order worth in excess of $1million.
The order, which has been received through its distributor in the Far East, is for the new Cobra V20 Nd:YAG vanadate laser which it has recently introduced.
The Electrox laser marking machines will be used to mark mobile phone key pads.
The Electrox Cobra V20 is ideal for this application, where letters and symbols are being marked onto a delicate substrate.
The laser's superior beam characteristics give a clear and permanent mark on even the most sensitive of materials.
It is the latest in the new range from Electrox, which has set out to broaden its range in order to offer a "precise solution for every marking problem".
In addition to the Cobra V20 vanadate laser marker, it has recently introduced the aggressively priced Cobra ES.
Design and manufacture of the Electrox laser marking machines is all conducted at the company's state-of-the-art site in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.
The company prides itself on providing fully integrated systems tailored to suit individual applications, easily achieved because of its substantial design and applications engineering departments.
Commenting on the new order, general manager/director Howard Moore said "We are naturally delighted to receive the order, one of the largest single orders we have received lately.
Our lasers were selected because they provided the most cost effective means of marking this particular substrate.
It is a clear indication that our policy of extending the Electrox range to incorporate a more diverse choice of laser system is correct." The new Cobra V20, which has a true 15,000h warranty on the diode pack, benefits from the proven Electrox V3 software, the result of over 60 man years development and created by the company to give the best-possible working system.
The easy to learn and use software is compatible with all current versions of Windows and can import a wide range of graphic file formats, generate bar codes, two dimensional codes and date codes as well as perform automatic serialisation, conduct merges with data from external sources and control up to four axis of motion.
It is available as either a 12 or 20 watt version.
The Cobra V20 complements the extensive range of laser marking systems and solutions offered by Electrox.
