Packaged laser marking system is affordable
Packaged laser marking system delivers unrivalled quality and reliability in a compact package at an affordable price, which can easily be fitted into the smallest of workshops.
Laser marking is the preferred technology for companies in many demanding industries, like automotive, medical, electronics and giftware where productivity, durability of the data and mark quality are important criteria.
Until recently, however, the relatively high initial cost has meant that laser marking has been the preserve of larger manufacturers.
To fill this gap Letchworth-based Electrox has introduced the MaxBox packaged laser marking system, a compact laser marker which can easily be fitted into even the smallest of workshops.
Offered at a very affordable price, the MaxBox is available in 10 and 20W versions - enough power for most application - and has a footprint of just 600mm x 600mm.
Laser marking is a very simple, fast, versatile and convenient means of permanently marking a component - the laser beam moves across the surface very much like writing with a pen on paper - with no need for inks, acids or solvents and no tooling to wear so the marginal cost per part is minimal.
The Yb:Fibre laser at the heart of the MaxBox makes full use of the rugged construction originally developed for hostile telecommunications applications where lasers have to be capable of functioning for a minimum of 25 years or 250,000h without fault or failure.
As a result these lasers can operate in temperatures up to 450 deg C ambient and are unaffected by humidity levels, airborne contamination and vibration.
The new Electrox MaxBox offers all the proven benefits of a laser marking system from one of the world's leading manufacturers, combining a small footprint, almost maintenance-free construction and a highly competitive price.
The MaxBox provides unrivalled beam quality and stability and will mark a wide range of materials including metals and plastics.
It is particularly suited to the removal of highly reflective coatings from delicate substrates.
Outstanding thermal efficiency means the MaxBox requires no secondary chiller and is entirely air cooled.
Easy to install, the MaxBox connects direct to a single phase supply and has a power requirement of just 1kVA.
MaxBox can be supplied in table top format for bench mounting or with a base unit for free a standing configuration.
The MaxBox is controlled by the proprietary Electrox software system, developed and written in-house specifically for industrial applications.
Easy to use and proven in over 2,000 installations world-wide, Electrox laser marking software offers a very high level of flexibility in a simple, user-friendly format.
With the mean time between failures of the diodes put at 300,000h, MaxBox offers exceptional reliability and the laser is guaranteed for a full 2 years.
