Integrated laser marking systems are
customizable

Electrox is one of few fully-integrated manufacturers of laser marking systems world-wide that provide fully integrated systems - standard or customized to an application.

Known for its innovative and proactive product development programme, Electrox is demonstrating its comprehensive range of new laser marking systems at IMTS 2006 The new range includes the MaxBox, the Razor, and the Scorpion laser markers

Electrox is one of few fully-integrated manufacturers of laser marking systems world-wide.

For the customer this means that, in general manager Howard Moore's words, "We provide fully integrated solutions, which can be a standard system, a new system to be tailored to an application or an existing system modified to meet a new task".

"We take full responsibility for the system, from inception of the project through installation to maintenance and service support so the customer only ever has one point of reference." All parts of the laser marking system (including all the electronics, hardware and software) are designed, developed and manufactured by Electrox engineers.

Comprehensive applications evaluation and systems development capabilities provide manufacturing solutions for a wide array of components and materials in a broad spectrum of industries.

The entire family of Electrox laser marking systems is controlled by the proprietary Electrox intuitive software, the result of over 60-man years development and proven in over 2000 installations world-wide.

The software is compatible with all current versions of Windows and can import a wide range of graphic file formats, generate bar codes, two dimensional codes and data codes as well as perform automatic serialisation, conduct merges with data from external sources and control up to four axes of motion.

In addition, all Electrox laser marking systems have USB communications, a galvo beam scanning system, DSP Galvo drives and a range of scan lenses which, along with all the electronics and the software, have been developed in-house by Electrox engineers.

A hand-held console facilitates control of the laser and can hold up to 64 previously downloaded marking files.

An LCD display provides access to these saved marking files as well as showing the status of the laser and comprehensive diagnostics.

* MaxBox fibre laser marking system - MaxBox is a compact Yb:Fibre laser marking system, small enough for bench top mounting and accommodated easily in even the smallest of workshops.

It provides all the proven benefits of a laser marking system from one of the leading manufacturers of laser marking systems world-wide combined with the latest fibre optic laser technology and a competitive price.

First of the fully integrated laser manufacturers to develop a fibre system, Electrox has made the ruggedness of the Yb:Fibre laser technology available to the industrial market.

The laser beam is delivered by optical fibre direct to the scanning head so there is no coupling loss or reduction in beam quality.

It is immune to misalignment or optical contamination.

Maintenance and cost of ownership are minimal because there are no mirrors to align or clean.

There are virtually no consumables and the system is dust-sealed for life.

The MaxBox is entirely air cooled and uses single phase power so installation is quick and easy.

Available in 10W and 20W versions, powerful enough for virtually any application, the Maxbox can operate accurately at temperatures up to 45 deg C ambient and is unaffected by humidity levels or airborne contamination.

It is guaranteed for a full two years.

* Scorpion fibre laser marking system - the Scorpion Yb:Fibre laser is a compact, air-cooled system with unrivalled beam quality and reliability.

The system is designed for 24/7, maintenance free operation to minimise service downtime and improve productivity.

It can operate accurately at temperatures up to 45 deg C ambient and is unaffected by humidity levels or airborne contamination.

Ideally suited to the marking of most metals, including stainless steels, coated materials such as anodised aluminium and plastics, the new Scorpion fibre laser is particularly appropriate for applications in the medical, automotive, electrical/electronic, tooling, giftware and security marking industries.

It is easily integrated into other processes so is also suited to integrators and OEM partners.

The entire Scorpion laser is guaranteed for a full two years.

* Razor CO2 laser marking system - the Razor CO2 laser marking system is designed for marking a range of materials such as wood, glass, rubber, fabric, leather and translucent plastics which are not suitable for Nd:YAG, Nd:Vanadate and Yb:Fibre lasers.

The Razor is a sealed, air cooled laser which gives high reliability and virtually zero maintenance for the lifetime of the laser.

No water cooling is required at this power level, obviating the need for a chiller and permitting a very small laser package.

* Cobra V-12/20 Nd:Vanadate laser marking system - the Cobra V-12/20 Nd:Vanadate system extends the scope of applications addressed by the Cobra range and, in particular, facilitates the rapid removal of coated layers without damage from delicate substrates.

The Cobra V-12/20 is available as either a 12W or 20W laser and comes with a diode warranty of a true 15,000h or two years, whichever is the sooner.
