Laser marking has 'rent to buy' machine scheme

An Electrox product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 17, 2007

UK manufactuer of laser marking machines and systems has introduced a 'rent to buy' scheme, which enables a prospective user to acquire a machine for under GBP 213/week.

Even with the ever lower cost of puchasing the versatile laser marking systems, companies often regard laser marking as a 'non-productive' expense.

Even so, more customers for manufactured products are demanding marking for traceability purposes.

To encourage more manufacturers to consider laser marking, Electrox has introduced a 'Rent-To-Buy' scheme.

The scheme allows a user to use a laser marking machine for 12 months at a cost of under GBP 213/week.

At the end of the 12 months, the user has the option of buying the machine for the purchase price outstanding or simply return the machine.

Electrox claimed to be the UK's only fully integrated manufacturer of laser marking systems.

The company is recognised for its ability to respond promptly and exactly to specific application requirements.

The company is also known for building bespoke marking systems from its standard machine range.

Historically, Electrox was among the first to introduce the fibre lasers to industrial marking, Recently it introduced its proprietary EF Technology laser platform, which offers low cost and high performance as well as a long warranty period.

The 'rent-to-buy' scheme applies to an E-Box or MaxBox laser marking system.

Each offers a choice of EF Technology or Yb:Fibre marking technologies.

E-Box and MaxBox have unrivalled beam quality, said Electrox, as well as exceptional reliability.

All lasers carry a two year warranty and the EF Technology platform has a four year warranty.

* E-Box 'entry level' system - E-Box with EF Technology is capable of marking items (singly or in batches) within a circular marking field up to 140mm diameter.

* MaxBox - MaxBox can mark parts within a circular marking field up to 220mm diameter.

It provides automated focussing and can accommodate a rotary device for marking around the circumference of cylindrical components.

Director/general manager of Electrox, Howard Moore, said: "This scheme is designed to our allow customers to 'try before they buy'.

Although laser marking systems have steadily become less expensive to purchase, we are aware that for smaller companies or those inexperienced in the use of laser technology it can seem a significant capital investment for something which is to them untried.

We are proud of our record for pre-empting and meeting customer's needs, whether they be technological or practical.

The introduction of this scheme, which we have developed with 600 Finance specifically for our customers, is another example of the effort which we make to fulfil our customers' requirements.".
