Laser marking systems suit high or low volume work
Based on an innovative diode pumped Nd:YAG design, an expanded laser marking range now offers solutions for low volume and high throughput work.
Laser profiling centre makes light work
When visiting MACH 2002 earlier this year, having already made highly effective use of a laser profiling system installed 18 months previously, a subcontractor chose a second, more powerful type.
The Electrox-developed electronics enable the user to download marking programs instantly and to use files direct from a memory stick instead of downloading first.
A bigger memory (2 gigabytes) allows more complex programs, and in greater number, to be stored.
Off-line programming is a viable option.

SMEs offered affordable laser marking system
An affordable laser marking system for all small-to-medium volume manufacturers is complete with control electronics, software, safety workstation and work piece focusing mechanism.
Budget-priced laser marking system launched
To meet the market demand - particularly from SMEs - for aggressively priced laser marking systems - this unit provides a permanent, easily legible and versatile mark.
Laser marker is gentle with delicate substrates
Laser marking machine is suitable for a wide range of applications and, in particular, facilitates the rapid removal of coated layers from delicate substrates without damage.
These features significantly reduce set-up times.
Director and general manager Howard Moore said: "This was a major project for the company, more complex and involved even than the development of our own laser technology.
The result is a completely new electronics system which brings substantial time savings and greater versatility to the customer and directly improves our own business at the same time".
Moore added: "We are able to achieve all this because we retain the manufacturing and software production as well as design, development and applications at our site in Letchworth.
This gives us absolute control of the entire process, from the first glimmerings of an idea right through to installation and commissioning of a system at a customer's site.
It also gives us the power to implement modifications or changes quickly, correctly and far more economically than if we were simply assembling from other manufacturer's parts".
Electronics, EF Technology, the industrial application of fibre laser and UV technology and the variety of workstations are the results of maintaining a highly skilled and specialist workforce.
For example, the Research and Development Department at Electrox works closely with the Product Development Department.
In turn, the latter works directly with a customer from point of enquiry to develop the ideal system for the application.
Of equal consequence, both fixtures and tooling is designed and manufactured by Electrox engineers working at the purpose-built Letchworth, UK, head office.
"The customer can have virtually whatever he needs at a commercially realistic cost, created from our standard range or developed especially by the Product Development Department for the application," said Moore.
"A combination of our expertise in the application of laser to marking and our comprehensive range of laser systems means that we can objectively advise a customer on the most suitable laser for his work.
In the same way, we can select from our broad array of workstations, which ranges from the compact eBox right through to the Maxim, to create the most appropriate laser marking system for each application.
As we design and manufacture our own workstation enclosures, we can just as easily develop a workstation specifically suited to an individual application, or integrate a system into a production line.
We write all our own software, so we can also modify or extend it to accommodate particular requirements".
Moore concluded: "The specialism of Electrox is taking the mystique of laser technology and rendering it into a workable, affordable reality for customers world-wide.
From small, innovative beginnings we have fledged into a competent, extremely capable marking solutions provider.
For the customer, this translates into the most appropriate system, at the most realistic cost, and with the best warranty". Request a free brochure from Electrox ...
