Shortlist announced for e-Learning Awards
Twenty six of the UK's top producers and users of e-learning have been named on the shortlist for this year's inaugural e-Learning Awards
Twenty six of the UK's top producers and users of e-learning have been named on the shortlist for this year's inaugural e-Learning Awards, which will be presented at a gala dinner at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, on Thursday 13th October.
The organisations have been short listed for one or more of the awards in the following categories:.
* Best e-learning production on low budget.
* Best example of supporting learners through online coaching or tutoring.
* The award for the best use of a learning content management system.
* The award for the most innovative use of e-learning.
* The award for the care taken to achieve inclusivity in an e-learning programme for users of all aptitudes and abilities.
* The award for the project or strategy that has done most to secure enthusiastic and widespread adoption of e-learning within an organisation.
* The award for the most conspicuous return on investment from an e-learning project.
* The e.Learning Age award for the e-learning team of the year.
* The e.Learning Age award for the young e-learning professional of the year.
* The e.Learning Age industry award for outstanding achievement.
Vaughan Waller, chairman of the eLearning Network (ELN), the UK's leading professional association for users and developers of e-learning, whose members helped to judge the entries and arrive at the shortlist, explained: "The primary objective of the e-Learning Awards is to recognise excellence in the e-learning industry - publicly acknowledging the programmes, projects and strategies which have enjoyed the greatest success this year.
"Crucially, the e-Learning Awards will recognise contributions through the eyes of learners themselves - the users - as well as the suppliers.
In this way, we intend to present an awards ceremony that both recognizes unique, outstanding work and reflects the impartiality of the ELN and the Awards' co-sponsors, e.Learning Age magazine." "We are delighted," added Waller, "that AbilityNet has agreed to be our nominated charity for the Gala evening on October 13th.
AbilityNet is the UK's leading charity bringing the benefits of computer technology to adults and children with disabilities and we hope that the evening will raise money for this worthy organisation."
