Horizontal spindle milling centre is a rigid multi-task milling centre with horizontal axis is of the floor-type moving column design that can meet the technical and application requirements, especially in the general engineering field.

At the recent Italian Bi-Mu exhibition, Emco Mecof presented the worldwide pre-view of an innovative machine with floor-type moving column.

It is a multi-task milling centre with horizontal axis that can meet the technical and application requirements, especially in the general engineering field.

It has been designed thanks to the most modern structural calculation systems as well as the dynamics and static analysis and is featured by the following.

* Electro-welded steel structure with high rigidity following Emco Mecof tradition (the steel, being the weight equal, has a stiffness higher than cast iron of 15-20%).

* Ram in symmetrical position, as per Emco Mecof know how with balanced masses so as to assure high geometrical accuracy.

* AC-Brushless motors on all the axes, Siemens digital drives, measuring systems with Heidenhain optical encoders, electronic anti-backlash with two motors on the X-axis.

* High accuracy and high machine dynamics.

* High level of customers' tailor-made systems.

* Axes travels: X - 4000 to 16000mm; Y - 1300 or 1600mm and Z - 2220 or 3000mm.

* Rapid and working feed rates up to 30000mm/min.

* Automatic universal milling head up to 6000 rev/min, 38kW, 1000Nm, with either continuous or indexing positioning.

* Heidenhain, Selca or Siemens CNC.

Through MecMill, Emco Mecof can offer its customers an 'avant-garde' technological solution to compete worldwide with very good quality/price ratio.
