Compression latches enhance cabinet security

Polyamide wing handle resists corrosion
EMKA has introduced a corrosion-resistant polyamide wing handle with polyamide barrel and cam for closure of electrical enclosures, cabinets, wall mounted boxes, toolboxes, etc.
EMKA have responded with both round and flat rod possibilities.
In particular the 1121 Flat Rod system represents a functional re-think of the basic concept of door closure.
EMKA designers have been able to offer up to five closure points evenly spaced along the sealing edge of the door, and by keeping the whole mechanism outside the gasket area they have ensured increased IP sealing potential.
Taking the 'pull-down' function away from the rod ends and locating it along the length of the rod has allowed the 1121 system to be at once more flexible in the ability to specify an appropriate size rod mechanism and to provide a more even compression of the gasket.
Enclosures fitted with 1121 systems have been tested to IP66.
Design of the new 1121 EMKA system has particularly borne in mind the production requirements of enclosure builders with simple cut-outs at every location - the whole mechanism for example being symmetrically located around the horizontal centre line.
This means that only one punching layout is needed to LH or RH doors so blanks may be carried in stock and handling decided at assembly.
The additional clamping points offered by the 1121 system often also allow useful materials savings and lighter gauge doors, especially in conjunction with EMKA's 1110 hinge series.
The round rod EMKA three point closure system is a traditional and fully compatible program; it is an adaptable, effective way of providing door closure and locking for specialist large enclosures, including stainless steel.
Simple quarter-turn tab-and-rod operation can offer IP65 (NEMA 4) protection and requires only one hole and two weld studs to fit.
Adjustable operating rods, available in standard 100mm modular lengths, aid adaptability of the system.
This allows fitment to doors as small as 400mm and up to 2.4m high.
Tab/lock configurations accommodate depths of grip up to a maximum of 92mm, and for small enclosures it is possible to omit the centre locking position if required. Request a free brochure from Emka UK ...
