The latest corona discharge treating system manufactured by Enercon Industries combines the advantages of both covered and bare base roll treater technology in a single, compact station.

The latest corona discharge treating system manufactured by Enercon Industries combines the advantages of both covered and bare base roll treater technology in a single, compact station Called the Universal Roll 2000, the system has been developed for use in a wide range of applications, to produce levels of corona treatment that can be higher and more consistent than standard systems with only covered or bare base rolls

Traditional designs of covered and bare base roll corona discharge treating systems have been in use for coating, laminating and blown film industries for many years.

Although each system has its relative advantages and disadvantages, neither has universal application, often being limited by factors such as the levels of treatment, web width, selective or stripe treatment or power output.

By comparison, the Universal Roll 2000 incorporates both a specially coated base roll and rectangular ceramically encapsulated electrodes, providing the potential for a much higher and more controllable level of treatment than would otherwise be the case.

Perhaps as importantly, the system can be used to treat almost all plastic and paper webs, plus the majority of metallic and foil materials; as a result, it is ideal for use on printing, converting and laminating presses where materials are regularly changed or where substrates require special processing.

The operating efficiency of the system is further improved by Enercon's unique air flow technology, which ensures that the discharge is concentrated directly below each electrode, while simultaneously ducting ozone away safely away from the work area.

The Universal Roll 2000 can be used on webs of up to 3400mm in width, providing full width treatment on either one or both sides of the substrate.

The system is supplied with Enercon Industries' proven Compak single phase power generator, which is designed to match the exact requirements of the treater station.

The unit is simple to set up and use and incorporates loss of treatment and over treatment indicators, plus a built-in diagnostics facility.
