Two world renowned experts in critical cleaning will be flying into the UK from the USA to stage a series of essential workshops at the 3C Contamination Control and Cleanroom Products show.

Two world renowned experts in critical cleaning will be flying in from California to stage a series of unmissable workshops at the 3C Contamination Control and Cleanroom Products show This UK exhibition is dedicated to everyone involved in the protection and prevention of particle protection to personnel, products or the environment

The exhibition takes place at the Birmingham NEC on February 13-14, 2008.

With over 65 years' experience between them, BFK Solutions' Barbara and Ed Kanegsberg - co-authors of the acclaimed 'Handbook for Critical Cleaning' - will present the stand-alone, 3h complementary workshops entitled 'Cleaning and contamination control for critical components and devices' and 'Producing a reliable product'.

The workshops (visit www.threec.co.uk for details) will interest everyone involved in the wide array of medical device manufacturing technologies and processes being showcased simultaneously at the NEC at the co-located shows, as follows.

* MEDTEC UK medical device manufacturing.

* MTEC Sensors, Measurement and Instrumentation.

* Machine Building Drives and Automation.

* IPOT - image processing and optical technology.

* Practical Vacuum and Semiconductor Processing.

The 'Cleaning and contamination control for critical components and devices' workshop will emphasise the basics of cleaning technologies, including the management of cleaning at all stages of the supply chain.

Choosing the most appropriate cleaning process is essential to product quality and profitable production.

On the agenda will be the cleaning of high-value products, including specific applications such as cleaning in a cleanroom environment, medical devices, as well as specific requirements for optical and vacuum components.

Topics covered will be as follows.

* Defining the appropriate cleaning process - contaminants, cleaning agents and cleaning processes.

* Avoiding contaminated products through supply chain management - identifying critical processes, specifications and monitoring.

* Cleaning products in a cleanroom environment - avoid contamination of the product and the cleanroom.

* Specific issues and applications - components for vacuum conditions, optical components, medical device cleaning and other high-value applications.

Workshop 2, 'Producing a reliable product', will be particularly relevant to visitors involved in process implementation and process monitoring.

Delegates will be warned that selecting incorrect chemicals and equipment can unravel years of design and testing resulting in chronic yield problems and dissatisfied customers.

Cleaning technologies will be discussed in the context of process selection.

Automation for production environments and the integration of cleaning into the assembly process will also be covered - as will process validation, monitoring and troubleshooting, as well as the appropriate use of standards and controls.

Topics covered will be as follows.

* Cleaning and manufacturing scale-up - process selection, process testing and process implementation.

* Process validation - process monitoring and cleaning metrics, standards and controls, guidance documents, in-house process controls.

The workshop will also embrace safety and environmental regulations, FDA and EU requirements, risk management and minimisation, potentially toxic contaminants, customer requirements, and cleaning and assembly automation. Request free introductory details about products from Enviro Tech Europe ...
