E-Components and Chains has made available four colours of Detectamet metal detectable plastic - blue, red, green and yellow They are all now certified and conform to current European and American legislation (EU90/128 and FDA regulations), governing the use of plastics in direct contact with food

Detectamet products in this range include colour coded shovels, paddles, forks, hand scoops, scrapers and stirrers.

The Detectamet hygiene range has been specifically developed for the food and pharmaceutical processing industries.

The products in the range are all produced from a specially formulated material based on high impact food contact approved polypropylene, which has the ability to be detected and rejected by typical metal detection machines used in the food processing industry, said E-Components.

Each product is X-ray visible, prevents damage to delicate and expensive equipment, is cost effective against other materials, tough and durable, easy to clean and virtually unbreakable, said the company.

Other standard Detectamet products include pens, hygiene gloves, cable ties and earplugs.
