E-Components and Chains Limited has launched its Detectamet Test Stick for metal detectors for metal detector testing.

E-Components and Chains Limited has launched its Detectamet Test Stick for metal detectors for metal detector testing Manufactured from a variety of plastic materials including clear plastic, nylon and polyethylene, Detectamet Test Sticks are claimed to offer calibrated and certified bearings to BS EN ISO 9002 and UKAS calibration

In addition, the company said that there is a colour coding system for visual verification, a certification number detailed on every piece and on-line traceability and printable certification.

The products are also said to have quality controlled ball bearings to ensure consistency.

Standard test pieces or sticks measure 100mm x 10mm x 10mm, whilst pucks are 35mm in diameter x 10mm deep, with a convenient cylindrical shaping.

Flexible pieces come in 500mm lengths, although special lengths are also available.

Manufactured from FDA nylon transparent tubing, the bearing in the flexible product is securely fixed in end of tubing, with the piece claimed to bend through 90 degrees.

Test rods are available in 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m and 2m lengths and are said to be useful for multihead weigher applications where detector access is difficult.

The rods are said to be made of durable polyethylene and, being semi-flexible, can be oriented through 45 degrees, added the company.

The high-visibility product comes in 100mm x 10mm x 10mm and is translucent, high visibility material for visual detection and it is available in a range of colours.

The company believes that because of its experience in producing components for metal detection in the food and pharmaceutical industries, it had found it increasingly beneficial to its clients to make information easily available for quality assurance purposes.

By introducing an on-line system E-Components believes it has been able to reduce the amount of paperwork and time involved in tracing detailed information relating to the product.
