E-Components and Chains has launched Detectamet WS metal detectable engineering plastic. Specifically developed for the food, pharmaceuticals, packaging, bottling and canning.

The Detectamet WS material is claimed to offer excellent wear resistance, high impact resistance, is self lubricating and is abrasion resistant.
It is also said to be water and dirt repellant and acid, chemical and corrosion resistant.
It is also vibration and noise dampening, has a blue colour, whilst being lightweight, cost effective and suitable for low temperature environments (-260 degrees C - + 80 degrees C).
