E-Components and Chains (ECC) is launching a new range of plastic housed bearings with Microban This material is effective against the most common bacteria that may affect food and cause a number of contamination and bad smells - such as Escherichia Coli 0157, Salmonella, Listeria, S-Aureus, and Campylobacter

The material is not meant to be a substitute for the common hygienic norms of cleaning routines; rather it offers additional protection in the regular plant's cleaning cycle contest.

Lab test have clearly demonstrated that Microban maintains its effective peculiarities for its entire life cycle.

It has been approved for use in direct contact with edible organic foods by the Scientific Committee for Food (SCF) of the EU, in the USA the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has approved its application in the transfer chains process.

Square, oval and take-up styles of housing are available with inserts to suit up to 40mm diameter shaft sizes.

Contact ECC for more information.
