E-Components and Chains (ECC) is launching the Detectamet metal-detectable plastic retractable Cryo Pen The ink flow of the Detectamet Cryo Pen is designed to be more fluid in lower temperatures and this also aids the ease with which it writes

It has the same housing as the Detectamet retractable pen but offers the advantage of an excellent performance in very cold temperatures (as encountered in the production of chilled and frozen foods, for example).

Detectamet pens are claimed to be the only metal-detectable plastic pens manufactured from a specially formulated material based on high-impact, food-contact-approved plastic.

Even the smallest of particles is said to be detectable and rejectable.

The Detectamet Cryo Pen also has other benefits, including: X-ray visible; prevents damage to delicate and expensive equipment; cost-effective against other materials; tough and durable; minimum parts; retractable nib; available in blue, red, yellow and green coloured housings; reinforced clip for security purposes which also incorporates a hole to locate a 20mm split ring and safety chain as recommended; user-friendly, sleek, streamline design; the plastic material with the carefully formulated additive has been approved for direct food contact under EU90-128 (FDA Approved); Detectamet Pens can be used as part of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP); Detectamet Pens are detectable and rejectable by metal detection systems used throughout the food and pharmaceutical industries; and, subject to a modest tooling charge and a minimum order quantity, ECC is able to incorporate a company logo/corporate identity on the pens should this be required.
