Boxmag-Rapid acquired and name changes
Eriez Magnetics Europe has acquired the "Boxmag-Rapid" brand, together with the assets of Boxmag-Rapid relating to vibration, separation, industrial and mineral extraction magnets
An extensive and experienced export sales team were on hand to welcome all the visitors, over half of whom turned out to be completely new contacts.
An important show for the company, Eriez had invested in the necessary space at Ceramitec to allow it to show several examples of its well respected range for the ceramic and allied mineral industries.
Visitors this year were able to view the new Xtreme Tube Magnet - representing a great leap forward in pulling power - an HI 25-50 Magnetic Filter for advanced wet separation, a Metalarm Metal Detector, a magnetic trap, rare earth plate magnet and other tube magnets.

Growth opportunities for automatic sampling
Eriez Magnetics Europe has witnessed a year on year growth in enquiries and order levels for automatic sampling in the coal and power generation industries.
Quality through metal detection and magnets
Eriez Magnetics Europe is assisting a leading supplier of building industry granular materials to achieve quality, effective and safe processing of its marine aggregates.
An additional member of the Eriez team - and certainly the most colourful - was Captain Xtreme (pictured) who turned out on his first public appearance to be a highly effective aid in promoting the Xtreme Tube Magnet.
Visitors were given the opportunity to test the pulling power of the Xtreme against an industry standard ferrite type tube magnet and were left in no doubt about the massive difference between the two.
Captain Xtreme and his message proved so popular that he has already been booked in for future trips.
Over 45% of the firm enquiries taken at the show came from Central and Eastern Europe and this turned out to be the destination for the two largest exhibits after the end of the exhibition.
Successful negotiations led to the Rare Earth (RE) Roll Magnetic Separator being sold to a customer in the Czech Republic specialising in the mining and treatment of raw materials.
This deal alone was valued at around EUR 10,000 and the RE Roll is now in place trialling dry magnetic separation of feldspar.
At this customer's site, around 200,000 tons/year of feldspar is processed and in ceramics is sold to manufacturers of tiles, stoneware, household and decorative pottery and sanitaryware.
The final product is also sold into the glass industry.
The Czech Republic also turned out to be the destination for the HI Filter unit which was exhibited at the show.
This is a seven-valve 25-50 model featuring automatic can control and TR set, all mounted on a mobile frame.
This is a powerful wet separation system generating a background field of 5,000 Gauss (increasing to anything up to 15,000 Gauss on the matrix collection points) and will be used on a ceramic kaolin plant.
It is a fine example of Eriez being selected as a prime technology partner in an increasingly competitive market where removal of paramagnetic material is absolutely crucial in guaranteeing higher levels of purity and whiteness in ceramic glazes, slips and bodies.
John Curwen, export sales manager at Eriez Magnetics Europe, commented: "We were extremely pleased with the reaction to our participation in this leading exhibition for the industry.
Nearly everyone in our UK based export team attended during the week - as well as our German agent and others - and all have found themselves extremely busy since the close of the show responding to the strong enquiries placed with us." He said: "As always in the ceramic industry, there was tremendous interest in the HI Filter and I am very confident about being able to announce further sales in the near future.
We were also very pleased with the introduction of the Captain Xtreme character; the positive reaction to his presence and the new Xtreme Tube Magnet range he was promoting means he'll definitely be getting another outing." Curwen concluded: "All in all, I can say without hesitation that for Eriez this exhibition has to be rated a success - we raised our profile another notch, further consolidated the Eriez brand in the area of quality ceramics and minerals, established many completely new contacts and made direct sales off the stand which exceeded our total costs.
