Manual metal arc welding guide published

A Manual Metal Arc Welding guide to ESAB's extensive range of MMA power sources and remote control units also describes the company's range of complementary remotes.

ESAB has published a new Manual Metal Arc Welding guide to the company's extensive range of MMA power sources and remote control units At one end of the scale are the OrigoArc and CaddyArc portable machines that are suitable for use indoors or outdoors in almost any environment

While the OrigoArc models can be used with electrodes up to 4mm in diameter, the CaddyArc handles electrodes from 1.6 to 3.25mm in diameter, but with the additional benefit of being suitable for use with cellulosic electrodes.

Both types of machine can weld alloyed and non-alloyed steel, stainless steel and cast iron.

Another feature of the CaddyArc is that it can TIG weld with ESAB's LiftArc facility.

TIG welding is also possible with the next family in the MMA range, the LHN Caddy Professional.

These portable machines have a number of features that make them particularly suitable for professional repair and maintenance welders.

Where a robust and powerful MMA power source is required, the AristoArc machines deliver outstanding welding characteristics when equipped with either the A2 or A4 user-friendly control panels.

All models in this group feature adjustable arc force, and the A4 control panel allows adjustable hot start to be used, as well as a wide choice of electrode types.

Carbon arc gouging can also be performed using the models equipped with the A4 panel.

For operation in particularly harsh environments, the LHF Offshore series of machines delivers reliable results due to features such as vertical static characteristics (ie the welding current is constant, regardless of cable length, arc voltage and other factors), a high open-circuit voltage that ensures excellent striking capabilities, and compensation for variations in mains voltage.

As well as information about the MMA power sources, ESAB's new literature also describes the company's range of complementary remotes.

Various analogue and digital models are offered to suit the different welding machines, with a choice of control capabilities. Request a free brochure from ESAB ...
