The Drill-Mark 6000 encompasses ES Technology's laser and automation skills in a machine which is capable of marking up to 6,200 components per hour.
The machine concept incorporates dual part presentation hoppers and dual marking fixtures, thus enabling one part to be processed by the laser whilst another is loaded to the second fixture.
A choice of laser types are available including Diode Pumped YAG, Lamp Pumped YAG or Fibre Laser and the Laser which is used in conjunction with a galvo marking head, ensures a high quality and repeatable mark.

Laser fuses powders into dense, complex parts
LaserCUSING is a process, similar to laser sintering, but which fuses metallic powder by a scanning laser to produce dense, complex and intricate 3D components.
A simple Windows based user interface provides the operator with full control of the marking process.
A comprehensive database is used to store product specific marking parameters such as Font Type, Font Height and Logos etc.
and language options of the software are available.
The laser marking parameters can also be automatically set to ensure a high contrast and crisp image on both High Speed Steel and "Blue" drill types.
Line widths of between 0.1mm and 0.2mm can be achieved and the repeatability of the mark position is +/- 0.5mm.
As for any production system, the ability to process a range of different components and quickly changeover between part types is paramount.
The Drill-Mark 6000 achieves this using a series of stepper motors.
The component fixtures are raised or lowered depending upon the part diameter to ensure the correct focus position, and additional stepper motors are used to move the fixtures between the marking position and the hoppers.
The system can process parts between 3.0mm diameter and 16.0mm diameter and can also handle standard, jobber and long series drill types.
The machine concept also maintains the drill orientation from the Input Hopper to the output station enabling easy final packaging.
The design principles and concepts of the Drill-Mark 6000 can be adapted to enable the loading and marking of other part types, including Slot Drills and End Mills.
The hopper loading, part presentation and handling principals of the machine are such that these can be configured around a wide range of cylindrical components which require laser marking ES Technology Limited is part of the Rofin Group and provides sub-contract laser marking services, after- sales servicing and parts in addition to the design and manufacture of laser marking systems.
