Gigabit connections grow as Ethernet
expands
As the use of Ethernet devices increases in manufacturing plants, data traffic increases and users will have to consider adding Gigabit connections at critical points to handle network loading.
Provider of industrial networking and communication products, Ethernet Direct Corporation, has introduced a cost competitive stackable workgroup switch that offers reliable connection to the backbone network Ethernet Direct said that the growth of Ethernet devices on the plant floor will mean greater amounts of communication consuming available bandwidth

Industrial Ethernet switches are robust, reliable
A complete portfolio of real robust and high performance Industrial Ethernet switches ranging from unmanaged device, SNMP managed device to Gigabit Ethernet switches is offered.
Ethernet switch is gigabit rated
Industrial managed gigabit Ethernet switches support gigabit SX and LX and can be remotely configured by web browser, SNMP, Telnet, CLI, or a menu-driven management system.
Data from the plant floor will feed up to SCADA and Enterprise systems, while Application Servers will provide distributed information down to coordinate automation systems.
Multicast messages and Peer-to-Peer synchronisation will generate additional traffic as more real time applications are run over Ethernet.
To handle this increased network traffic, Ethernet Direct suggested that users need to consider using Gigabit connections at critical connections.

Managed ethernet switch for mission critical apps
Ethernet Direct has annouced its Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch, HME-800, HME-621 and HME-623 Series for mission-critical applications.
Ethernet Direct has a full line of Gigabit solutions that allows users to build systems with rugged reliable Gigabit Ethernet Switches that will provide years of reliable operation and will handle future network loading.
Ethernet Direct offers managed switches which have 24 ports of 10/100/1000TX with 4 SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable).
These switches will allow the mixing of Single-Mode or Multi-Mode fibre.
Normally intended for the control rooms, these full SNMP managed switches can be used in production areas in pharmaceutical and electronics factories.
The Jaguar JMG-24F4 Managed Gigabit Ethernet Workgroup switch is a very powerful yet flexible multi-layer switch which delivers maximum throughput to high density workgroups at the edge or in the backbone of any network environment.
The non-blocking design of the switch delivers simultaneous, full wire-speed, low-latency throughput to all ports.
In addition, the 1U rack-mount form factor uses less rack space and provides a lower per-port cost.
Hardware features include the following.
* Complies with IEEE802.3u 10BASE-T, 802.3u 100BASE-TX/FX, 802.3ab 1000BASE-T, 802.3z Gigabit fibre.
* RJ-45 Port support auto MDI/MDI-X function.
* 24 ports 10/100/1000TX, and 4 SFP ports.
* Stack management via one IP address, easy management by Web GUI.
* Supports a wide variety of SFP modules.
* Store and forward switch architecture.
* Supports 48V DC power design.
Software features are as follows.
* Web/SNMP/Telnet/CLI management.
* IGMP support for multi media application.
* Port mirror/port security.
* Port Based VLAN /802 .1Q VLAN.
* DHCP Client.
Ethernet Direct said that all of its products provide high value, flexible design and reduced maintenance requirements due to superb quality.
The new JMG-24F4 stackable management switch solution reduces total cost of ownership and is an ideal choice for delivering highly reliable transmission in network infrastructures.
