Friction welding orders roll in

ETA Technology has received orders for supplying two single-end 1250kN friction welding machines from RSB Transmissions, Jamshedpur, India, for welding of rear axle housings of trucks.

ETA Technology reports that it has won orders for supplying two single-end 1250kN (125 tonf) friction welding machines from RSB Transmissions, Jamshedpur, India for welding of rear axle housings of trucks The machines can weld live axles and trailer axles

Usha Telehoist, a Calcutta based manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders, has ordered a 1500kN (150 tonf) machine for welding of piston rods to rod-eyes.

The machine can weld piston rods of dia upto 115mm.

ETA also said that CRI Pumps, an Indian company manufacturing submersible pumps, has ordered a second machine.

ETA had earlier supplied a 600kN (60 tonf) machine in 2006.

The new machine is sliding head type of 300kN (30 tonf) capacity.

Kar Mobiles, a Bangalore based engine valve manufacturer has ordered a 200kN (20 tonf) machine for welding Bimetal valves.

ETA adds on its latest order received from Tirsan Kardan, a Turkish Company manufacturing propeller shafts.

Tirsan Kardan has placed order for two twin-head machines of 15kN (15 tonf) capacity.

These machines will weld prop shafts of various configurations.

Ford Otosan, Turkey had earlier placed order for a 400kN (40 tonf) sliding head machine.

ETA told manufacturingtalk.com that is poised to build more than 25 friction welding machines in the current financial year and the turnover is expected to exceed US$10 million.
