Enabler Wipro will implement several Oracle Retail and Oracle EBusiness Suite modules.
The implementation will be phased in order to ensure that benefits are delivered in a short period of time, and exposure to business risk is minimised.
The first phase will tackle the Central Functions (Merchandise Management, Replenishment and Financial areas) and the second phase will focus on the operations side (Store and Warehouse operations).
Sailesh Savani, IT Director of Nakumatt, said, "We chose Enabler Wipro as our business partner because Enabler has been in the business of implementing Oracle Retail for a very long time and have been focussing on Oracle Retail only.
That has clearly given them the domain expertise in the retail space.
We also believe that besides implementing Oracle, Enabler will also be able to assist us in re-engineering some of our processes and adapt some of the best global practices in Retail which will in turn help us in aligning ourselves with global retailers in the way they conduct their business.
The new solution will also help us to grow beyond Kenya into other East African nations in a more planned manner.
