Exstream Software Announces the Union Central Life Insurance Company's High Satisfaction with Its Award-winning Dialogue Software

Exstream Software has announced positive results from The Union Central Life Insurance Company, a large user of their Dialogue software Union Central selected Dialogue in August 2000 to produce 401(k) statements that included personalised pie charts and graphs in real time - and without having to change their Metacode output environment

Experiencing a steady growth rate over the last decade, Union Central is now among the fifteen largest mutual life insurance companies in the nation.

With a goal to provide more competitive and meaningful statements to their clients, Union Central chose Dialogue because it could handle the complex pie charts they required.

Dialogue's variety of cross-hatching options allows Union Central to create clear, very readable pie charts on their statements.

Additionally, they can now produce variable output in highlight colour using Xerox Metacode, allowing them to take full advantage of their print environment investment.

"We run about 68,000 statements per quarter for approximately 6,000 groups," said Laura Mellman, application manager for Union Central.

"The 401(k) statement application is very complicated, and we found Dialogue to have the flexibility we needed".

"We are now producing complex statements quickly and easily".

Union Central intends to use Dialogue for additional applications going forward.

Work is currently underway on a combined billing statement that Union Central will offer to certain groups.

The new statement format will include all types of group insurance for a company, making it possible for subscribers to see their entire group insurance portfolio on one monthly statement.

The flexible manner in which Dialogue handles fonts is making it easy for Union Central to create the new multi-sided statement, which combines portrait and landscape pages.

"We are thrilled with the ease in which Dialogue handles fonts," said Mellman.

"Before Dialogue, we endured a lot of frustration and expense creating documents".

"With our former product, it would have been very difficult to create the complex billing statement we are able to now do with Dialogue".

"Also, because Dialogue is so much easier to use, we can now get new products to market faster than we could before".
