In welcoming her Farfield's Chairman, Paul Barraclough, revealed that she was taking on a many-faceted role.

As the manager of Manchester Airport's technology fund WorkNorth II, Farfields largest single shareholder, he said that Louise's role would include engaging the ever-increasing diversity and international nature of Farfield's shareholders which now extends to other financial institutions and into Farfield's supply and distribution channels.

Louise, who is a Chartered Accountant, has spent the past 11 years with KPMG where her clients ranged up to large PLCs with global household brands - that these characteristics match Farfield's aspirations is no coincidence.

Her background of listings, mergers and acquisitions and group reconstructions will add to the maturity and relevant experience to Farfield's Board at a highly appropriate time.

  Louise says she was prepared to leave her highflying career in professional practice only because in Farfield she saw a great opportunity.

"There's no doubt Farfield's expansion into Australasia and the Indian sub continent will bring its own set of challenges", Louise remarked, "But that's exactly what excites me about Farfield's future".

" Every day brings a new achievement or accolade for the team and I'm very pleased to be part of that journey now." Louise will also assume accountability for the financial administration of Farfield's sister company, Farfield Photonics , who have just opened new premises in NetPark in Sedgefield, Co Durham.
