Structural change is the driving force behind biomolecular interactions.
To fully understand protein interactions, it is essential to move beyond the simple measurement of affinity parameters towards an understanding of the impact of binding on the 3-dimensional structure of proteins.
Researchers around the world are now using Farfield Sensors' AnaLight Dual Polarisation Interferometry instrument range to quantitatively measure, in real time, the structural changes in proteins that take place during their interactions.
In turn, this enables AnaLight users to rapidly and continually feed their research pipeline with previously unavailable information about structural change in biomolecules.
Opportunity to Study with the BioInterface Group, ETH Zurich Study for your Master's Thesis at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich .
Join the BioInterface Group in the Department of Materials, in the Laboratory for Surface Science and Technology, and push the limits of sensitivity using Farfield's AnaLight Dual Polarization Interferometer.
Several research topics are available related to: The characterization of new polymer architectures for biosensing applications and medical implants.
Studies of established surface platforms, comparing results from the AnaLight with those of other, complementary techniques The project details would be discussed with the applicant.
Optimum time of stay would be 6 months, though other durations would also be possible.
