Meeting increased demand for robots and automation in Ireland, FANUC Robotics has recently increased its levels of local support for sales and after-sales.

Previously providing support from its Coventry base, FANUC now has 'its own man' operating on the ground.

John Joe McDermott, already well known to FANUC Robotics' Irish customers, is now based in County Mayo.

Ten years experience with FANUC, project engineering robot systems, puts McDermott in a strong position to provide local support and expertise to address challenging manufacturing problems.

Sean Murphy, FANUC Robotics' sales manager for Ireland, explains, "Ireland's current boom is fueling the increased demand for locally manufactured products - consequently we have seen an increase in demand for automated manufacturing solutions.

The growth in demand for robots is driven by the need to be cost efficient and also the shortage of skilled personnel.

The FANUC System 100 Series welding cell for instance provides cost effective increased capacity with a return on investment of within six months.".
