Fishercast Global has announced the installation of a Frech DAW 80F Realtime control machine to help the company expand its capacity for intermediate size zinc die castings.

Precision zinc die caster Fishercast Global has announced the installation of a Frech DAW 80F Realtime control machine to help the company expand its capacity for intermediate size zinc die castings.

This capacity increase was vital to support the company's success in supplying precision solutions to all sectors and markets worldwide and is reflected in it's rapidly expanding order book for these larger castings.

The new machine was delivered to the Fishercast plant at Welshpool taking the company's capability beyond the small, detailed components cast on its own machines for which it is already well-known.

The addition of the new Frech machine increases capacity and flexibility with the company able to produce castings weighing as much as 750g with surface areas up to 275cm2 - more than three times Welshpool's previous limit.

Opened in 1994, the Welshpool facility employs 44 people.

The company is accredited to ISO 14001 as well a TS16949 (2002 edition).

Fishercast Global European Operations has a sales turnover of GBP8+ million and is part of the Fishercast Global Corporation.

The company provides die casting services to a range of industries including automotive, domestic hard ware, electronics, telecommunications, power tools and industrial controls.

Zinc is the preferred die casting material used by Fishercast due to the many advantages it offers over other materials such as Aluminium.

Zinc alloys facilitate higher die casting cycle speeds versus aluminum and other metal alloys, more complex shapes, thinner wall sections, smoother surface finishes, and higher standards of dimensional accuracy.
