SNECI of France has participated in the setting-up of Renault's Modus people carrier project by getting four specialist suppliers to work together towards the project's successful completion.

SNECI of France, a leader in vehicle equipment business engineering, has participated in the setting-up of the Modus project, which culminated in the launch, at the Madrid trade fair in May 2004, of Modus, the mini-people carrier designed and manufactured by international car maker Renault.

SNECI was instrumental in getting four specialist suppliers - Tubificio di Terni (a specialist in car exhausts), Gruppo Proma Italia (seat structures), TEBO (brake flexible couplings) and TMD Friction (brake lining) - to work together towards the project's successful completion.

The Modus is due to be manufactured by Renault at its production site in Valladolid (in Spain).

Renault has high hopes for Modus, which is the French-based car group's latest mini-monospace (or people carrier).

The company says that Modus will be a strong player on the European market for smaller vehicles, which is expected to represent up to 15% of the total in the near future.

With SNECI's help, Modus has become reality, as part of a truly international business engineering programme.

SNECI provides expertise to international parts and component manufacturers seeking to win contracts in France with French automobile manufacturers and leading component manufacturers.

As a leader in vehicle equipment business engineering, the company can open the door to the French automotive market to non-French players.
