Labelling electrical cables using laser UV technology ensures indelible marking, unlike inkjet marks that can become erased, and is not aggressive on the material.

Laselec, which designs and manufactures laser UV machines for marking cables, opened its US subsidiary in Texas in July 2004 This is set to assist the specialist French company in its expansion across North America

Labelling electrical cables using laser UV technology ensures indelible marking, unlike inkjet marks that can become erased, and is not aggressive with regard to the insulation properties of the material, unlike hot-stamping processes.

Laselec ships ULYS and MRO 200 cable-marking equipment all over the world via a network of distributors and its newly established US subsidiary (based in Arlington, Texas).

ULYS and MRO 200 machines have high production rates, and can be operated flexibly as well as easily.

They are suitable for a wide range of high-tech applications across sectors as diverse as the railway industry, space technology, automotive, defence, etc The ULYS and MRO lines were originally developed by Laselec to meet the new production requirements of major aeronautics companies.

Since aircraft manufacturers today aim at reducing the weight of aircraft, this is leading their cable suppliers to develop fine, smaller products with thinner insulation.

The Laselec cable marking system is particularly suitable for these innovative products.

The ULYS (medium and long production runs) and MRO 200 (short runs) systems provide unique, tried and tested laser technology for the fine cable labelling market.

Indeed, aircraft manufacturers face a true dilemma - and Laselec is in a position to offer the solution that is needed.

More than 200km (i.e 108 miles) of cables are required for a jumbo jet to function properly.

Each cable section must be marked to facilitate maintenance.

Naturally, not all the cables have the same specifications.

They differ in physical and electrical properties, insulation type, and in terms of length and cross-section.

Laser UV marking ensures cable traceability in case of unexpected electrical problem and also provides users with indelible, non-aggressive marking which respects the requirements involved in running and cutting cables.

Reliable and innovative, Laselec laser UV cable-marking systems are now in widespread use as part of the civil and military programmes of groups such as AgustaWestland, Airbus, ATR, Boeing, Dassault, Embraer, Eurocopter, Pilatus, Sogerma, TAI, and their main subcontractors.

About Laselec - Laselec, which is headquartered in Toulouse (in South-Western France), is a specialist in the designing, developing and manufacturing of laser UV machines for marking cables.

Laselec product lines are unique and have applications not only in the aerospace industry, but also in a range of other sectors.
