Portable laser scanning arm accuracy raised
Portable laser scanning arm offers 30% more accuracy from a 33% lighter weight system, which also has better performance in scanning dark or reflective surfaces.
Portable CMMs are more accurate, lower cost

Portable CMM for production floor efficiency
The FaroArm developed by Faro Technologies is lightweight, portable and makes measuring different parts as simple as opening a file or importing a CAD file.
The Quantum's laptop computer simultaneously illustrates the 3D measurements on-screen and records all of the data.
The company told Manufacturingtalk that the system produces 3D 'blueprint' of a part or machine components, making it an all-in-one portable tool for performing inspections, tool certification, CAD-to-Part analysis, or reverse engineering.
It is the first eight-foot arm proven to measure accurately to within 0.0007in (0.018mm) - a fifth the width of a human hair.
"The Quantum FaroArm has a combination of features not found on any other device," FARO President and CEO Jay Freeland said.
"It defies the limits of portable metrology, makes measurements easier and more precise, and gives customers like Leading Edge Aerospace a high confidence level in their ability to bring top-quality parts and products to market more quickly".
