3D laser scanner enhances image clarity
As well as offering greater clarity, accuracy and portability, 3D laser scanners have higher sensitivity for better detection of objects that are distant, darker and more oblique.
Metrology software made for portable CMM arms
Metrology software for portable coordinate measuring arms can easily change/convert between different measurement units or coordinate systems.
Senior regional manager of Faro, Kai Gaertling, who is responsible for the Tebis project, explained, "We are pleased to present this software solution in Frankfurt as customers have repeatedly expressed the need to link the FaroArm to the Tebis software.
Test series with users - including the toolmaking department of Volkswagen - were successful.
The solution enables the user to transfer the scan data of the tools directly into the tool coordinate system for further processing without using a third-party software".
* About Tebis - Tebis RSC is regarded as one of the best surface reverse engineering packages for designed surfaces on the market and is easy to handle.
So it was a logical step to link this technology to the flexible scanning system of the FaroArm.
It is an extremely quick and accurate system to use, said Faro to manufacturingtalk.com, if surfaces are missing or current data is not available.
Examples include repairs in tool manufacturing as well as for the production of all kinds of duplicates.
Digitizing of 3D objects and surface creation are very easy with Tebis: Connect FARO Laser ScanArm to Tebis, calibrate probe and scanner - and start scanning the object.
Afterwards the scan data is edited in Tebis and built with RSC surfaces.
* Euromold - Faro will be represented at Euromold at stand M58 in hall 8. Request a free brochure from Faro UK ...
