Composite filter provides a low maintenance alternative to the more common metallic screen filters in water treatment and the oil and chemical industries.

Fibagroup, a global leader in the supply of fibre reinforced pipe systems and associated components, has given a market introduction to its latest development, Fibascreen Fluid Filter, a composite filter that provides a low maintenance alternative to the more common metallic screen filters The Fibascreen Fluid Filter is designed for filter applications in water treatment and the oil and chemical industries, and is produced using a range of composite manufacturing methodologies to achieve the highest level of performance

Fibascreen delivers high corrosion resistance in contact with water and a complete spectrum of chemically aggressive media.

The filter has a large open area to maximise flow capacity and its construction ensures high longitudinal strength as well as high radial compressive strength, giving it outstanding durability in rugged installation environments.

To meet the widest span of needs, Fibascreen is available in a range of filtration levels.

Fibascreen represents the latest step in composite filter technology following Fibagroup's well-screen development work first initiated in 1995.

The new design combines optimised performance with a low maintenance solution when compared with traditional metal screen filters.

In addition to Fibascreen, Fibagroup produces a range of special filament wound or cast products such as pressure vessels, flue systems and storage tanks, that complement the company's principal pipe systems: Fiberdur and Fibaflo.

Fiberdur pipe systems, filament wound or cast, are based on vinyl ester or epoxy resin and can be produced in diameters ranging from 25mm to 2300mm in up to 10 meter sections.

Fibaflo systems are filament reinforced pipes also using polyester, vinyl ester or epoxy resin but delivered with either glass fibre or carbon fibre reinforcement.

They are available in over 200 internal diameter sizes from 20mm to 5000mm.

Fiberdur and Fibaflo pipe systems, together with other Fibagroup speciality products such as Fibercast, Navicon and Thermothan, have an established fit in the most demanding applications and environments on and offshore.

Principal markets include the chemical and power industries, water and waste management, oil production and the maritime sectors.

Importantly, corrosion and fire resistant Fibagroup pipe systems are approved for virtually all application areas for which official or customer qualifications are specified, including the requirements of the world's leading classification societies.

This is supported by a wide span of reference projects from pickling plants to nuclear power installations, chemical refineries to sewage plants.

Fibagroup offers a complete advisory, development and production service.

Through its comprehensive technical and manufacturing facilities Fibagroup is able to customise pipe systems to satisfy the requirements of virtually any project, anywhere.

Fibagroup is a new name in the industrial marketplace but its leading fibre reinforced pipe (FRP) systems have an established international reputation for quality, performance and innovation.

Fibagroup was formed earlier this year through the combination of resources of two leading suppliers: Fibaflo Ltd, based in Poole, UK, and Fiberdur GmbH, headquartered in Aldenhoven, Germany.

Bringing together highly complementary technologies and know-how, and over 40 years of success in the design and manufacture of filament reinforced pipes, ducts, tubes, other specialised liquid transmission products and fittings, Fibagroup offers the widest range of FRP systems and solution design capability currently available from any supplier in its field.
