To avoid machine slideway wear, a Finnish company will install magnetic filtering systems to every lathe in its plant follwoing successful trials in a Mori Seiki CNC lathe.

After successfully installing a Magnom Clear Process Unit to filter cutting fluid in a Mori Seiki 75 CNC lathe, Refimex Machinery Oy have decided to install Magnoms into all of their lathes, including Mori Seiki 65s (as per the image to the right) Magnoms Finnish distributor suggested the use of the Magnom because the lathes slideways were wearing from ferrous contaminant in the cutting fluid

The Magnom is the only way to economically remove this contaminant (see image to the left of loaded Magnom Clear Process Unit) The rate of wear would have driven a need to recondition the slideways within 3 years, at that time the lathe would be out of work for two weeks and the repair alone would cost EUR 17.000.

To avoid this, they will install Magnoms to every lathe in their factory.
