Plastic connector for medical devices

A Fischer Connectors product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jan 8, 2007

Fischer Connectors' L.U.C.(Limited Use Connector) plastic connector was developed specifically for disposable medical devices.

Fischer Connectors is continuously developing to meet its customers' changing requirements.

Its bespoke cable-assembly manufacturing service is growing, as is its connector logistics service.

The company and its parent - Fischer Connectors SA, Switzerland - are building up stocks of standard products to meet the increasing demand.

Acknowledging that UK-based manufacturers have tried outsourcing the procurement of connectors and manufacturing of cable assemblies to the Far East, Peter Orrell (MD) said "A significant number who have tried that approach for low-to-mid volume high-added-value cable-assemblies, are coming back to us." He added "We have recently marked up our projections for the volume of product shipments." The company's RandD department continuously analyses trends in its applications-centric target market segments, and develops products specifically for them.

For example, it developed the 1053 series HDTV Camera Connector to meet the needs of the burgeoning HDTV broadcast industry.

Also the L.U.C.(Limited Use Connector) plastic connector was developed specifically for disposable medical devices.
