Small to medium-sized workpieces in small production runs can be ground in an external and universal cylindrical grinding machine that offers increased capacity.

One of the outstanding features of the newly developed S33 external and universal cylindrical grinding machine is the optimum use of working space on this model This is achieved through the unique arrangement of the slides

This has resulted in extra long grinding lengths and, consequently, increased capacity of the machine.

The S33 is built with a distance between centres of 650mm (26in) or 1000mm (40in).

The flexibility of the S33 is especially beneficial for the supply industry.

There is now - quite literally - nothing to stop the economical production of small to medium-sized workpieces in small production runs.

The sturdy design of the assemblies, e g workhead, tailstock and wheelhead, makes it possible to absorb grinding forces from external grinding wheels up to 500mm (20in) in diameter and 80mm (3.2in) wide.

In internal cylindrical grinding operations, the cutting speed can be optimised at any time with the infinitely variable drive fitted as standard.

Easy positioning of the universal grinding head is carried out via the 1deg Hirth serration.

This ensures efficient sequential grinding in one setup of external diameters and bores.

The revolutionary Studer accessory kits also enable S33 customers to adapt their machines to specific requirements at any time.

In addition to the proven Studer Quick-Set function, even thread grinding is possible.

The entire machine concept is founded on tried-and-tested Studer technology like Studer's mineral-cast Granitan machine bed with its high thermal stability.

The programming and control elements are very professionally designed - as you would expect from Studer.

The Fanuc21i controls are easily programmed using Studer Pictogramming.

In addition, there are a large number of software modules available for specific jobs.
