Finisar has announced the opening of a technical support centre in Milan, Italy, to serve its growing customer base in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Finisar, a technology leader in fiber optic and test and measurement solutions for high-speed data networks, has announced the opening of a technical support centre in Milan, Italy, to serve its growing customer base in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The new centre will be staffed with an experienced team of Finisar's customer quality and field application engineers, who are available to provide programming and testing assistance and troubleshooting aid in support of Finisar's world class optical transceiver products.

Finisar has experienced strong revenue growth in EMEA over the last several years through the addition of new optics customers.

Finisar's wide variety of synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH), wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) and Datacom transceivers are utilised by all major telecommunications OEMs, storage and networking equipment manufacturers and industrial conglomerates in EMEA for a multitude of applications including mobile, transport, metro and access communication, LAN, SAN, industrial Ethernet, studio video, medical, military and railway signalling.

This extensive sales network is enabling customers to easily and quickly obtain localized assistance and technical support from a Finisar contact located within the same time zone.
