UK and Ireland agent for Huron Graffenstaden CNC 3- and 5-axis milling machines and machining centres is now Fortron UK, which aims to re-establish Huron in the markets.

Fortron UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of MTT Group, has been appointed the sole authorised agent in the UK and Ireland for Huron's 3- and 5-axis machining centres The company has been set-up specifically to service and supply Huron machine tools

As Huron's only authorised supplier in the UK and Ireland, and, in-line with Huron's reputation as one of the finest manufacturers of machine tools in the world, Fortron aims to provide the highest levels of supply and service in all aspects of its operation.

"We are a forward thinking and ambitious organisation, which complements perfectly the quality of Huron," said Fortron's managing director, Peter Willoughby.

"Our appointment as sole agent means that we can drive forward the Huron brand to its full potential, notably in arenas where high quality surface finish and high levels of accuracy are imperative, such as the aerospace, mould and die, and medical engineering sectors." Willoughby added: "Though, naturally, new machine sales are a very important factor of our business, it is the total care over the life cycle of the machine that is important to the would-be purchaser and this is where Fortron's strengths lie." Fortron provides total support before and after any Huron machine tool purchase as a vital part of continuing a successful long term partnership.

The service department has dedicated factory trained mechanical, electrical and electronic engineers to meet all customer requirements, and the team is strategically located throughout the UK and Eire to provide a swift response at all times.

The Fortron range of services available for Huron machines includes: installation and relocation; service maintenance contracts; breakdown response, laser and ballbar calibration, and, rebuild and retrofit.

While service is a major priority, spares are not forgotten.

Fortron stock and order only genuine, fully guaranteed, Huron machine tool parts and the company has the capacity to supply spare parts for virtually all Huron machines - even the manual types manufactured 30-40 years ago, such as the NU, MU and KU.

Fortron's UK sales manager Steve King added: "So far, our sales team has been well received by UK industry, the Huron range generating strong interest particularly in the aerospace sector.

We will focus on developing a market for the high performance KX and K2X ranges, available in both 3- and 5-axis designs, and the larger, high speed, 5-axis KXG.

Plans are also in place to launch a sophisticated, yet very affordable Huron 3-axis mill, later in the year." With a reputation for build quality second to none, the current Huron range of 3- and 5-axis CNC Vertical Milling Machines are suitable for the most demanding applications in all sectors of industry, from aerospace and automotive, right through to general engineering and medical.
