CNC milling centre has powerful
orthoganal head
Fixed gantry, moving table CNC milling centre features a powerful orthogonal head with axis drives powered by direct drive or torque motors.
The Huron KX 100 milling centre is the result of a technological evolution in keeping with corporate philosophy oriented towards cutting-edge technology It has therefore benefited from all the performance-boosting improvements that make it more competitive

5-axis CNC milling centre is compact, precise
A compact, high performance, 5-axis, five-sides CNC milling centre is intended for high speed machining of medium-sized workpieces up to 6 tonnes in weight.
High speed machining centre roughs and finishes
A 5-axis, five-sides, fixed gantry machining centre performs the high speed machining - roughing and finishing - of moulds, dies and electrodes as well as small to medium complex parts.
KX 100 means high dynamics.
The entire machine has been modelled and designed using the finite-element method.
The mass of the moving structures has therefore been reduced as much as possible while retaining optimum rigidity.

Vertical 'pick-up' spindle lathe is compact
A vertical 'pick-up' spindle lathe features an inverted 'hanging' electro spindle, which moves under control of the Siemens 810D CNC system in all three linear axes.
The fixed structures have been defined to ensure maximum machine stability KX 100 means high productivity thanks not only to the excellent behaviour of its structure, but also to the sensible definition of the motor drive system.
The moving structures are driven by feed motors combined with large-sized ballscrews.
Feed speeds of 40m/min are possible on the three linear axes.
The starting torques of the motors make it possible to achieve 1G vector acceleration.
KX 100 means optimum precision thanks to the strict application of rules from design, described as follows.
* The linear axis drives are powered by feed motors directly coupled to the ballscrews.
Position information can be read on linear measuring systems.
* The rotary axis (orthogonal head) drives are powered by direct drive or torque motors.
Angular position measurements are obtained from rotary encoders placed directly in the axis.
* The machine has a hydraulic balancing system to counterbalance the mass of the vertical headstock.
KX 100 means an optimum quality finish thanks to a careful choice of materials with maximum damping capacity and linear guiding systems.
With its ability to attenuate cutting vibrations and the flexibility of its anti-friction guides, this machine has real capabilities as witnessed by the excellent surface quality produced.
* About Huron - at its Illkirch industrial plant, near Strasbourg (France), Huron builds the high-speed machining and milling centres on which its reputation is founded and which are sold all over the world.
Two new machines are developed each year and, today, the company's global range is concentrated on a selection of 20 basic machines, each one of which can be equipped with a choice of four different electrospindles or tool changers of various capacities.
The aim is to stick as close as possible to the requirements of future users in a multitude of industrial sectors such as moulds, forging dies, modelling, cutting tools, general precision engineering and aeronautics.
Within the scope of its product/quality plan, Huron's lines of development focus - as far as the product is concerned - on performance in terms of speed, acceleration, accuracy, swarf removal capacity and surface quality.
Moreover, Huron is not happy with being 'just' a supplier but also provides customer support in the form of training of the technicians who will be using its innovative machines.
