FLEX/ the INNOVATIONLAB from Delft has developed a packaging for fellow Delft company Exact Software that has been designed to communicate and offer trust The packaging is part of a campaign Exact has launched introducing a new online service: Exact Online

This new accounting program brought to market by the software producer offers the opportunity to both entrepreneurs and accountants to work together in a secure internet environment.

FLEX designers have developed a packaging concept for the new service that communicates the security of the unique access code and the advantages of the online service with optimum effectiveness.

The online product has recently been officially introduced during the annual "Exact Accountancy Day", among other things by means of the new promotional pack, and reactions have been very enthusiastic.

Exact is an important software producer for accounting and has become a prominent company in the field of commercial software solutions for medium-sized firms.

Until recently, software programs were installed onto a local computer and frequent back-ups needed to be made in order to prevent loosing these data.

With Exact Online, the software producer introduces the possibility to do online bookkeeping.

Opening the Exact Online website and entering a unique access code allow the client to enter data that can subsequently be viewed by the entrepreneur as well as the accountant.

Focus of attention for the program has been the security aspect.

That is, the client should be confident that his data, though ending up on an anonymous server, are still accessible to authorized persons only.

Exact guarantees the security and certainty of the package and wishes to underline this with the packaging for the unique access code.

This is the background to the assignment FLEX/ the INNOVATIONLAB received from Exact.

The result is a luxurious-looking little white cardboard box provided with red and grey colour accents.

On one half of the box the new Exact Online logo has been embossed on all four sides, the other half is provided with a layer of high-gloss UV paint.

The box opens up by sliding the two halves from the centre to the sides.

Before the box is opened it is 'sealed' by a sticker connecting the two sliding parts.

This gives the sticker a tamper evident function explicitly emphasizing the exclusiveness of the unique access code.

By opening the box the interior is displayed: a strikingly red cardboard 'bed'.

This interior holds a credit card-like little leaflet with the specific three-stepinstruction plus unique access code needed to work with Exact Online.

In this project FLEX worked together closely with Millford Brand ID, branding office from Leiden and together FLEX and Millford clearly show that a packaging aims at much more than packing a product.

The luxurious and aesthetic finish, clever details and pleasant element of surprise create a feeling of professionalism and high quality.

And that's 'exactly' the objective Exact has had in mind.
