Survey examines employees' 'pride in
their work'

Interestingly, men are more likely than women to have no pride in their employer, 21% versus 17%, whilst nearly one in three women said that they are very proud to work for their organisation.
The proudest workers are those in senior positions with two thirds of managing directors and directors describing themselves as 'very proud' alongside 35% of management.
However, just 7% of unskilled workers would say the same.
Indeed, nearly two thirds of manual workers (63%) are not at all proud of where they work.
The plight of Britain's travel and transport sector is played out by their workers with over one quarter saying that they were not at all proud to work for their organisation, closely followed by Utilities.
On the up-side, employees who are very proud are: * Professional services - 35%.
* Media / marketing - 32%.
* Healthcare - 30%.
* Finance - 30%.
The picture around Britain varies quite considerably - 40% of employees in the South West are very proud to work for their organisation.
Nearly one in three workers in Scotland are not at all proud to work for their organisation.
Pride in working for their organisation is highest for those that work in companies with less than 10 employees (44%).
This could be because of the seniority of people that responded and also the direct contribution that people in small organisations have on the success of the company.
Brand awareness also played a part with 26% of people who work for organisations with more than 1,000 employees also being very proud of working for their organisation.
Gary Browning, CEO of Penna, commented: "Being proud of where you work and who you work for is an important component in ensuring a meaningful work existence.
If employees lack pride it is likely that motivation and commitment will also be low, impacting on an organisation's productivity and potential.".
