Significant sales growth has seen Floyd Automatic Tooling of Hertfordshire, UK, expand its team with the introduction of new internal sales engineer Russell Layton.

Layton has an established manufacturing background and will undoubtedly be an asset to a company that has recently seen demand for its specialised tooling systems grow considerably.

The provider of tooling systems for CNC sliding head turning machines and the more specialised CNC turning centres has recently increased its product range with the introduction of the new Schwanog Splining Tool System.

The new splining tool has proven a huge success in the market and has increased customer productivity considerably.

Richard Floyd, managing director of Floyd Automatic Tooling said: "We have some very innovative products that cater for the specialist manufacturers and customers in highly productive and competitive environments".

"Despite the negativity surrounding the loss of work to the Far East, our customers investment in technology combined with the solutions we provide are helping UK manufacturers claw back lost work." Floyd said the company had worked to promote the 'what's new at MACH' scheme run by the MTA, and had increased the size of its stand at the MACH 2006 exhibition to highlight all the new products the company had available.

Floyd Automatic Tooling's stand featured machines from Tornos, Star and Citizen and demonstrated the capabilities of the new moduline tooling systems from Swiss tooling specialist Applitec.

Other products tshown included a variety of collets, bushes, taps and dies, revolving ends, barfeed collets and a whole host of cutting tool solutions.
