New tooling insert for full form thread cutting
A new, economically priced, Full Form thread cutting insert has just been introduced by Precitool UK Ltd.
With a prime position in Hall 5, the company rapidly noted a high level of interest from visitors.
The main attraction on the Floyd stand was the presentation of the new Applitec Modu-Line quick-change pre-settable tooling program.
Highlighted on three high specification turning machines, the concept was well received by customers visiting the stand.

Innovations in tooling at Mach 2000
Floyd Automatic Tooling is launching innovations on both new tooling and technical support programs at Mach 2000.
Single micron steps for small high precision drill
Floyd Automatic Tooling, a leading source of tooling for CNC sliding head machine tools, have recently added small high-precision carbide drills.
Competitively priced compact broaching heads
Competitively priced compact broaching heads in Flo-topol range from Floyd Automatic Tooling.
Floyd Automatic had a Tornos Deco 26A from Tornos Technologies UK, a Star SB16 from Star Micronics and a Citizen K16 from NC Engineering on its stand.
Each machine was equipped with the Applitec Modu-Line quick-change pre-settable tooling system giving visitors a static 'hands on' experience of the concept.
The Modu-Line concept enables a range of Applitec quick-change insert holders of either pre-set or fixed length type and often with an increased number of tools to be used on the machine.
Using the unique Applitec ridge location system, the holders ensure a rigid and repeatable tool change.
The system provides the user with reduced set-up times and enhanced flexibility via additional tool options giving the operator a significant productivity and capability advantage.
Another product that was well received at the show was the Micron 'Crazy Drill'.
Demonstrated on plasma screens around the Floyd Automatic stand, the Crazy Drill generated a significant level of enquiry.
The Crazy Drill is ideal for drilling small holes to depths beyond the reach of conventional drills.
The Crazy Drill can accommodate holes that are 30 times the drill diameter and its special helix and sharp cutting edges enable the drill to cut at speeds well beyond that of competitor products.
When customers were watching the remarkably fast drill on the plasma screens, the one comment from every visitor was "has the video been speeded up!" This is due to the exceptional cutting speeds of the Crazy Drill.
Cutting tools from Floyd Automatic were also in operation on a number of machine tool manufacturers stands.
On the Star Micronics stand, a machining demonstration highlighting the exciting Schwanog Thread Whirling system was shown.
Suited to medical applications and alternative industries that require rapid production of high quality threads, the Schwanog system drew a considerable amount of interest on the busy Star stand.
At the N C Engineering Stand, just across from the Floyd stand, customers also saw how to 'roll mark' components with the ZEUS marking tool on Citizen machines.
'The demand for Roll marking has increased significantly since the introduction of compact holders for these machines" said Richard Floyd, Managing Director of Floyd Automatic Tooling .
On the Macro CNC stand, the Schwanog range of Splining tools gathered a significant amount of interest.
The Macro CNC stand sold two Miyano fixed head turning centres at the show, one of which had the Schwanog splining system in operation.
The Schwanog system eradicates the need for second operations by splining in a single operation on a lathe.
Serration can be achieved in less than 8 seconds.
The cost of Schwanog tooling is quickly recovered with second operations often being eliminated.
