Infrared cameras go on show at MEDTEC
Latest generation infrared cameras suited to the medical device manufacturing environment can monitor laser welding of polymers and perform inspection of devices.
In recent years the design and specification of infrared cameras has changed substantially to the point where thermography is now eminently affordable and easy to apply to all manner of thermal imaging, process monitoring and vision applications A leading architect of this change is FLIR Systems and at this year's MEDTEC Ireland 2005 the company will show its latest generation cameras ideally suited to the medical device manufacturing environment

Highly sensitive infrared camera is versatile
Having already produced the smallest infrared cameras with the widest range of high-end features a company has now combined a highly sensitive infrared detector with versatile post processing.
Torch-like infrared camera checks structures
A torch-style infrared camera has 'broken new ground' by making real-time thermal imaging affordable and accessible to a wide range of engineering professionals.
Typical applications include laser welding of polymers, inspection of medical packaging and quality inspection of devices.
In conjunction with its Irish distributor, Butler Technologies, FLIR Systems will focus on the wide-ranging flexibility of its infrared cameras.
An important new addition to the range is ThermaCAM Merlin.

Software minimises post-processing time
To simplify infrared imaging analysis, extremely powerful ThermaCAM Reporter software has been developed for the ThermaCAM range of infrared imaging cameras.
Thermal vision cameras show up problems
With the introduction of two 50mK resolution thermal vision cameras that allow highly sensitive thermal mapping of structures, inspectors can now see problems even more clearly.
This mid-wave infrared camera has been designed for sensing minute temperature differences and is more flexible in its application than any other commercially available high-end camera.
ThermaCAM Merlin offers an unmatched combination of factory optimised and field-customisable features including variable integration time and data processing software.
An impressive range of interchangeable lenses is available including microscope and telescope optics.
Featuring a Stirling cooled InSb detector, the camera has outstanding thermal sensitivity, NEDT is typically <18mK.
It provides 320 x 256 high-resolution images with uniformity from 0 deg C up to 2000 deg C and can detect temperature differences as small as 0.018 deg C.
Introduced at last year's MEDTEC but now finding wide applications, the 'top-of-the-range' ThermaCAM S65 can also be configured to meet the precise needs of the job.
When teamed with FLIR Systems ThermaCAM Researcher software, this uncooled longwave camera allows in-depth and extensive thermal analysis including 50Hz digital recording and evaluation of high-speed events.
Enhanced connectivity options include an IEEE-1394 FireWire interface for real-time transfer of fully radiometric 14-bit JPEG images and associated data.
Several of FLIR Systems' A-Series fixed mounted cameras will be demonstrated including the ThermoVision A10, the world's smallest infrared camera.
Despite its size, it has the features and performance of larger, far more expensive infrared systems.
Overall, the A-Series provides affordable, fully integrated thermal imaging and measurement with a high degree of flexibility.
They feature powerful, built-in logic and multiple independent alarms.
Each ThermoVision infrared camera can be equipped with its own unique URL that allows it to be addressed independently via its Ethernet connection.
This also enables any authorised user to access and control the camera via LAN, WAN or Internet using a standard web browser.
Radiometric and non-radiometric models are available. Request a free brochure from Flir Systems ...
